Street View launched in Norway in February 2010. A few days later, the Street View van captured these the following… (screen caps from Street View)

They appear to have removed the frame in question but James Herriott (obviously not THAT James Herriott) from Rickmansworth snapped this image of the Google Street Views truck whilst sitting down with a cold one. (via)

Lost on Street View

Sadly, several fine, socially important sightings have now been erased to history.

A quick search found these two sights which have now been over-written with new views.

Thankfully, this thief is in focus and one would hope the police are able to identify him (her?). John Street in Brighton, England.

Toying around with Google’s new Streetview yesterday, I came across what look like someone’s lost pants (as in trousers, not undies) lying on the edge of the road near The UK Astronomy Center, in Edinburgh. Scotland (I am in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada).

I wonder how many other lost, stolen, misplaced, discarded, and otherwise forgotten items might be spotted from afar via Streetview…
